Sabre Pacific GTT at the Sydney Children’s Hospital

On Friday 8th May, a group of the SP team spent some time at the Sydney Children’s Hospital as part of our Give Together contribution. From 12.30-4.30pm, we lacquered wooden train sets, dusted and sanitised toys, packed craft kits, and upholstered mini wooden chairs in tissue paper to cover up writing that an over-enthusiastic child had kindly graffitied all over!

While we can’t say it was the most comfortable arrangement sitting on miniature-sized kids chairs at equally miniature desks with our knees up to our chests, it was fantastic that we could sit on the balcony with Mix 106.5 pumping (yes, they gave us our own radio and let us choose the station!) and spend an afternoon doing something different to our usual 9 to 5 and more importantly, something meaningful that we knew would put a smile on the face of a child who was unlucky enough to find themselves in hospital! Sabre Pacific GTT in the great outdoors

As part of 2009’s Give Time Together an ambitious bunch decided to offer their time to the great outdoors. Which is how we came to be at the beautiful Trumper Park in Paddington. Originally Hampden Park Oval the park was built on reclaimed swamp and filled with various land fill from many of the local road projects over the years. Rudy the Bushcare officer from Woollahra Council helps maintain over 80ha of parks in the area. The project at Trumper Park involved planting a section of Native Garden surrounding the oval with a variety of Local Fauna. We weeded, mulched and planted – it was enormous fun and great to be giving back to the community and environment! Read more »

Earthquake In L’Aquila

The weekend right after the earthquake there is was a team ready for an exceptional transport of water for those displaced in L’Aquila. The Civil Protection advice that they don’t have enough things for personal hygiene and especially elderly people were missing specific things for their personal basic needs. Then there is the need for things to clean kitchens and bathrooms like brooms, rags, etc.. Read more »
