Sabre Japan helps local Shinto shrine

Shrine dogAhead of the official Give Time Together global volunteer week in May, Sabre Japan team made a volunteer activity on March 31 2009 to avoid the Japanese holiday season called “Golden Week” that happens to fall on “GTT volunteer week”. Also, we wanted our volunteer activity just before the Cherry blossom.

I considered 2 objectives of the GTT volunteer activity other than contribution to a community for this year as a coordinator for Japan team. They are, Introduction of a little Japanese culture to our Sabre global folks, and, Have fun and feel good through the activity. And, we unanimously decided to help clean up the garden of Ebara Shrine nearby our office which was filled with dropped leaves in winter. We heard the garden was too large for an old priest to pick all the leaves before many people visit to see the cherry blossoms.
