More Hands and Hearts Giving Time Together in ‘08

Our annual Give Time Together global volunteer week, April 19-25, once again proved what a great team of employees we have in all parts of the world. While the volunteer stats are remarkable, the stories of life changing memories live on in hearts forever and we should all be proud of that.

Week In Review
• 10,448 volunteer hours in 25 participating countries
• 2,631 volunteers, 28% of our global employees, which represents an 11% increase over the last year!
• 142 total events
• 31% of total events had an environmental component, up from 17% last year

There are so many incredible stories on the blog, but we thought we’d share one from each of the three categories: Environment, People and Animal, to give you a flavor of the impact our teams made in their communities.

This was the first year the Give Time Together program promoted the option for employees to volunteer individually for a personal cause. Read about our first Do It Yourself participant.

As Sam noted in last week’s Town Hall, if you haven’t had a chance to participate yet, consider how you and your group can take part next year. And don’t forget the second half of our Give Together campaign coming in October, where events and programs help raise funds for your preferred local charities.

Approximately 30 PSD / CIO resources worked on and accomplished the following tasks associated with preparing Camp Summit to be able to conduct it annual summer camp for special needs children and adults (feel free to pull more info from the website.)

- clears creek from cattails, willows, grass and other tall brush for visibility for counselors to better see the children as well as create a better flow of air for the challenge course.
