Charity Breakfast - Health Batallion

Bogota Volunteer week 2009

As the give time together campaign approaches, we as the team in charge of the 2009 campaign in Colombia got together to find a good opportunity to help to make a difference and to touch the community, several ideas come to mind but one stand above others, as you may know here in Colombia there is an armed conflict that affects all levels of the society, taking that in mind we thought that the best way to help would be to support and help our national army, vital part of the country and a group that work hard every day every night so we can live safely, so we can go to work. Give Time Together - Sabre Columbia Team

img_0668.jpg

Hi From Colombia!!
I want to tell you a little about our participation; we are 31 employees in the Country and all the team participate, This year we choose to work with Sanar Foundation,  I am sending to you information attach about them and how they work.

Sabre Colombia will work with SANAR foundation to collaborate with the “Recycling program”.

Why did Sabre Colombia choose this program?
Because we can help these children with the materials we don’t use in our home like clothes, toys, newspaper, beds, or in our office like paper, letters, newspaper, cardboards, listings, bottles, tetra pack, crystals, desks, tables, and computers.

Although we have to learn as families and as coworkers that things we can’t use, we can give to another people, that we can recycle all the things we use in home and in the office so why not be conscious of the necessities of others and to preserve natural resources, like in this case of these children with cancer they can get extra fund through the recycling program.

What are we doing?
First of all, Cesar Perez our Tech Consultant presented the recycling concept and the Solid Residue Management where he explained about how to recycle in the office, in our homes, how to differentiate the different types of residue such as:
·        organics,
·        inorganic,
·        biodegradable,
·        non biodegradable and
·        domestics solids residue that classified in:
·        glasses packages,
·        fine and thickness plastic,
·        cardboard,
·        aluminum can,
·        paper,
·        polystyrene,
·        batteries,
·        metals,
·        tetrapack ,
·        sanitary ones

Based on this, Sabre Colombia is going to work to help Sanar’s Foundation and also our natural environment to preserve the resources, deciding to work in this program during all 2008 not only for the week of April.  Each employee can bring to the office the things we don’t use in our homes and also the Sabre’s office will recycle. We call Sanar every month and they come to collect the recycle materials. We did 2 activities ; The first Recycling Campaign was during February until March 14th  on this date the foundation came to pick up all recycling staff that we collected.
The Second Recycling Campaign was from March 15th until April 14th.  this activity Trained one of the companies in the area who joined us in bringing all their recycling staff from their office.

We are collecting more recycling staff for May 14th activity and so on. For the next activities we are inviting most of the companies that are located within our building location.
