The Power of One - Sabre’s DIYs Make a Difference

Lynn Niewald - Conducted a resume writing and interview skills workshop for a group (some ex-convicts) in Dallas, Texas, USA.

Dunia Velarde - Delivered “Trust in the Tomorrow” books, donated to a cancer support organization in La Paz, Bolivia. 

Christer Svalmark - Helped a day care center with daily routines and program in Stockholm, Sweden.

Chad Howard - Organized 28 stalls for Sherwood State School fete/carnival in Brisbane, Australia.

Mi Refugio

(Santa Cruz, Bolivia) “Mi Refugio” is a place to help women with cancer. This institution began work in 2003 and has focused in Breast Cancer Prevention.

 

Ana Maria Coutand (Air France Representative in Bolivia) is the Institution’s President. Their principal labor is to collect money to help the poor people receive a free breast exam and treatment. This institution has made a big difference in all women with cancer in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Visit shelter Hogar Teresa de los Andes

The Bolivia Team is one of the smallest of the region, but we have a big heart willing to work hard and do something for the community. In this opportunity for the second year, we went to “Hogar Teresa de los Andes” a children’s shelter with mental and physical disabilites. This is a non-profit organization that needs a lot of help, they were very thankful with the food received. They are fully supported by contributions received from local individuals and companies. 7 months after Retamani landslide - Bolivia

In September 25th  2007, 22 families that lived in the Retamani II area were affected by a landslide that destroyed their houses.  For their own safety, they were evacuated and relocated in a small soccer field.

Since that day, and for seven months now, they live in tents and handmade houses built with aluminum and almost outdoors, with no water and limited electricity. Read more »

Hogar del Niño Jesús – Bolivia

Hogar del Niño Jesús is an orphanage that cares for the nurturing, health and education of over 120 children with ages between 6 and 12 years.  It was founded on 1992 by Spanish missionaries and depend on the bread and cookies they bake on their own bakery beside the kind donations they receive from people within Bolivia.
